Old time string band music from Hood River, Oregon! The June Bug Boys pick and sing their way through a wide variety of American string band music, touching upon Bluegrass, Old Time, Country, Swing and Jug Band Music. Veterans of many local and touring bands, The June Bug Boys are at home at a concert hall, house concert, educational performance, festival, wedding or pub gig. Aaron Keim plays banjo and banjo ukulele, informing our performances with historical context and old time credentials. Ryan Kolberg adds a strong foundation on upright bass and incorporates a more modern feel to the bottom end. Larry Wyatt brings a strong bluegrass and country guitar and vocal to the group and is a long time public school teacher. Kerry Williams’ virtuoso mandolin playing draws from many influences, including swing and celtic music.

Our first cd, The June Bug Boys, is a collection of tunes put together to show our diversity and high energy performances. From “Breaking Up Christmas,” an old time fiddle standard to “Mississippi River Waltz,” originally by the Memphis Jug Band to Bluegrass standard “Big Spike Hammer.” A great gift for any music listener!
